The Volkswagen ID.3 will be a compact electric manufactured by Volkswagen. The Volkswagen ID.3 is characterized by being the first vehicle in the brand new the modular platform MEB of the Volkswagen Group, in which the group has invested thousands of millions of euros. It is, therefore, the launch most important of the giant Volkswagen in a long time, “the Golf of the electric car’, with which Volkswagen wants us to move on to the electrical mass.
The final version of production should be presented in September 2019, while the first deliveries to customers will not be until January of 2020. In any case, the reservations of the Volkswagen ID.3 are now open: for 1000 € you’ll be the first to enjoy the launch edition of the car, well equipped and with 420 km of autonomy.
The price of the automobile ID.3 would in 29.990 euros in Germany and will compete with other compact electric as the Hyundai Ioniq, electric, the Nissan LEAF or the SEAT the-Born. The different versions will have autonomies between the 330 and the 550 kilometres.
Design of the Volkswagen ID.3
Volkswagen will focus on an identity very marked for the electrical family ID. Hence, their goal is to create a dedicated electrical, beyond electric versions of other products that preserve the internal combustion engine, as was the case with the Volkswagen e-Golf.
The Volkswagen ID.3 have a configuration of rear engine, although the architecture SEM allows the installation of an electric motor per axle.
According to Volkswagen, the ID.3 you will enjoy of very large interior space –the so-called Open Space– thanks to its architecture and to the distribution of the batteries in the base. The idea is that the interior is as spacious as a Volkswagen Golf, and the trunk as wide as a Volkswagen Passat. As of today, we do not know the official measures, even so the brand has revealed photos of the interior.
Range of Volkswagen ID.3
The Volkswagen ID.3 will be presented with a range of three models with different drum kits:
The version of access, has 330 km of autonomy thanks to a battery pack of 45 kWh. There is an intermediate version with a battery of 58 kWh and 420 kilometers of autonomy. The version top includes a battery of 77 kWh and has a range of 550 kilometers, according to cycle WLTP.
Their performance and power are, for the moment, unknown, but it is believed that the versions of access will have a power output close to 120 HP, similar to that of a Volkswagen Golf with engine 1.0 TSI access.
The Volkswagen ID.3 will be compatible with a protocol of fast charging of 125 kW of power.
