@Luna_cb.- The press office coordinates the European Police Road (Tispol), has made public a press release in which it has provided the data of the control campaign on trucks and buses conducted from the 14 to the 20 of October of 2.019, which includes, among others, the sanctions for breaches of the driving and rest times.
According to these data, in that week, the various patrols of the police of highways of 29 european countries carried out a control on 227.004 vehicles, including drivers of buses and trucks, in which we detected a total of 49.926 violations.
A total of 7.623 drivers of these vehicles had committed violations of driving and rest times. In 6,049 cases the drivers had not properly used the tachograph, while in 664 cases of the controlled this control device had been tampered with, being punished severely.
In terms of the driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages, 220 drivers were punished for this reason. Other 47 were fined for doing so under the influence of drugs in the body.
In what refers to the technical condition of trucks and buses: 6.541 vehicles showed serious technical defects. 1.603 truckers were fineds due to an insufficient or deficient clamping of the load. 711 trucks transporting dangerous goods fail to meet any of the transport legislation ADR. On the contrary to 1.871 vehicles were not allowed to continue the journey until they were repaired the faults that were affecting seriously the safety of both the drivers, as well as the rest of the users of the public roads.
