@MikelGF.- Mercadona will build a logistics warehouse in Seville exclusive for sale online in the city and its metropolitan area. The Management of Urbanism of the city Council of Seville has awarded the supermarket chain a plot of municipal ownership of 30.220 square feet, a value of 10.8 million euros.
In this plot, Mercadona plans to build a store exclusive for the digital sale, with which to develop your project from purchase through the Internet in Seville. The “beehive”, as we called internally by the company, will begin to be built is expected in 2.020. It will be located in the area of urban expansion Higuerón South and will have a build volume of 38.580 square feet.
Currently, the company already has a centre of these characteristics in Valencia offering service to the city and 96 municipalities of the province. During this year it plans to open two new stores in Barcelona, for the month of June; and in Madrid for the end of this year. Mercadona, according to statements of its President, Juan Roig, plans to continue building this type of “hives” in Bilbao, Zaragoza, A Coruña, Alicante, San Sebastian, among other cities.
