With the aim of introducing the new association to the port Authority, ATCBA held a working meeting with officials of the Port of Algeciras, in which he has had the opportunity to propose improvements in the processes of land transportation and the services that the port offers to the carriers.
ATCBA, association that belongs to Fenatport (National Federation of motor Carriers port), has taken the occasion to submit to the port Authority of Algeciras Bay its proposal on the Terms of reference for the Commercial Service in the ground transportation, drawn up based on the document of Recommendations for the Development of the Specifications for the Commercial Service, which developed the Agency’s Public Ports state in 2014.
On the other hand the new association that brings together virtually 90% of the carriers and the self-employed that provide their services in the port area of the Bay of Algeciras, it has been postulated as an interlocutor in the field of transport in front of the own APBA, and has shown a willingness to work together with the port community in different Work groups, such as the Council of Navigation, the Service Letter and in the commission Import-Export.
In particular, ATCBA expected that in the near future are put in place measures for the improvement of the accesses to the Terminals and to the port area, recalling the commitment made by the APBA as to the installation of services modules for drivers in the vicinity of the Terminal TTIA. In terms of the improvement of the efficiency of the transport ATCBA requesting the connection with Endesa for the automation in the north and the expansion of the number vials of input and output.
Another issue that has been present in the meeting is the improvement in the management of the PIF, since the carriers come to suffer delays of several hours in their facilities. In this sense, ATCBA has requested to be put in service new connections for fridges and has proposed to do a follow-up of the delays suffered by each transport company on these facilities to measure the magnitude of the problem. Also it has been requested that the container Terminals to deliver the empty equipment in perfect conditions for the realization of the transport services.
For its part ATCBA has brought this to the attention of the Port Authority, that in the past month of December, a representation of the association of carriers forming part of Fenatport, moved to the President of State Ports, Maria Ornella Chacón, the need to equip the port of Algeciras for more investment in terms of infrastructure and Human resources.
Finally, ATCBA want to thank you for the willingness shown by the Port Authority in connection with the proposals made by the carriers and the offer made to the new partnership for it to participate directly in the different Tables of dependent Work of the APBA.
By the APBA attended, Alejandro López, Rafael Olivares, Juan J. Aguilar and Jesus Franco. ATCBA was represented by its Board of Directors, Diego Piñel, Cristina Real, Manolo Ortiz, Jose Miguel Castillo, Antolin Isidro, Antonio Sanchez and Jesus Duran. (Photo: ATCBA)
