Seized 33.408 pairs of athletic footwear forged with destination to Spain

@Samuelsoni_cg.- Over 33,000 pairs of sports shoes forged has been seized in the port of Brindisi (Italy) from Greece and destined to a company in Spain.

Agents of the Guardia of Finance, together with officials of the Agency of Customs seized in the port of Brindisi 33.408 pairs of sports shoes fake, that imitated the models of well-known brands like Nike or Converse, and whose destination was a Spanish company, where they would have been put up for sale as original.

The incident occurred last Tuesday, June 11, during the checks of monitoring carried out in the port of Brindisi and designed to combat the introduction of counterfeit, in Italy, the market protection and the safety of the consumer.

The merchandise seized was in a truck that had disembarked from a boat from Greece. The counterfeits came from China and had been introduced in the territory of the European Union to be sold later as an original product. According to the researchers, the footwear seized would have reached a value of € 1,800,000 for sale. The technical studies were carried out by Nike and Converse, which confirmed the falsification of the footwear.

The legal representatives of the freight company Hungarian, the consignee of the Spanish company, as well as the transport company Bulgarian have been reported, are accused of introducing into the State and the market are counterfeit products.
