Writing.– During a recent working visit to Nizhny Novgorod, it was noted that Gazprom is constantly working to expand the use of natural gas as a fuel for vehicles.
The main objective at this stage is to shape and develop local markets for NGVS that subsequently will be linked through corridors of natural gas vehicles on the main federal highways. Between 2015 and 2018, Gazprom built 86 new units of refueling (CNG stations of the latest generation modules and refueling at the existing stations, as well as platforms for repostadores mobile). It is planned to complete the construction of 43 units in 2019.
Currently, manufacturers of Russian cars are produced with success a wide range of vehicles to natural gas totaling more than 220 models, including passenger vehicles, heavy and specialized.
Gazprom is also converting their own vehicles on natural gas. From 2014 until the end of July 2019, the number of NGVS in the fleet of vehicles of the Group Gazprom amounted to 11,658 units, which represents more than 50% of their vehicles that can be converted to natural gas. This figure is expected to reach 55% by the end of 2019. So what has been made public in a press release.
The meeting also reviewed examples of conversion successful natural gas vehicles in agricultural entities. Special attention was paid to the federal measures and regional required to support and accelerate the market development of NGVS in Russia.
“Natural gas is an effective tool to reduce costs in all sectors of the economy where it is involved in the transport, as clearly demonstrated by the results of the work of Gazprom. We are becoming actively our own fleet of vehicles on natural gas. Since 2014, the Company has saved up to RUB 4.8 billion (USD 75 million) as a result of the use of natural gas in place of petroleum fuels, and the emissions of pollutants have been reduced by more than 108,600 tons. It is evident that the greater the importance of the vehicles in the activities of a business unit or government, the more significant will be the economic effect and environmental the conversion of vehicles to natural gas, ” said Viktor Zubkov, chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom.
The delegation of Gazprom visited the factory of the Group GAZ in Nizhny Novgorod in which, among other things, are manufactured CNG. Other places visited by the delegation included a taxi company that used cars with CNG and a company that manufactures CNG cylinder for motor vehicles and repostadores mobile.
