At the end of January 2018 Cupra became an independent brand and a little after, on the occasion of the Salon of Geneva 2018, introduced us to their first production car, the Cupra Ateca, a version of the SEAT Ateca that, among other changes, came with 300 HP. With a few months of marketing behind their backs, even taking the first steps as an independent brand and a Salon of Geneva 2019 where the brand will present its next steps, SEAT has announced that Cupra has produced some very good figures in the first two months of 2019.
Cupra has sold between January and February to 3,600 cars
Between January and February Cupra has delivered a total of 3,600 cars worldwide, a figure to be taken into account if we have in mind that in addition to the youth of the brand, its range is now composed by only one model, the aforementioned Cupra Ateca.
To put in context this figure is to be remembered that in these first two months of the year SEAT, including Cupra, harvested a total of 88.800 cars sold, a 12.7% more than in the same period of 2018.
In addition to Spain, Germany and United Kingdom are the main markets for SEAT
Spain is the main market of SEAT, with 17.800 cars sold in this period, followed by Germany, with 16.600 units and the Uk, with 8.100 cars. It is surprising to see that in Germany and the United Kingdom has grown at a rate of 21% and 23.9% respectively.
Outside of Europe it is noteworthy Algeria with to 6,600 units, and a growth of 40% and Mexico with 4,300 units, and a growth of 8.9%.
Cupra presents in the living Room of Geneva to the Cupra Formentor, a SUV hybrid of 245 HP
Let us remember that at the Geneva motor show Cupra will be presented to us conceptually to a new SUV, the Cupra Formentor, a car that in addition to a sporty design comes with a mechanical hybrid plug-in 245 HP.
Currently the Cupra Ateca has a price without discounts of 45.450 euro by reminding us not only the 300 HP before mentioned (delivered through a system of all-wheel drive) but also a specific tuning, new aesthetic details and a large complement of equipment.
