The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is the Cayenne more powerful and faster of the history of the model. In fact, it is more powerful and offers more torque than the Lamborghini Urus (650 CV). Stronger still, it is more powerful than any Porsche 911 (except the 911 GT2 RS 700 HP).
And this is significant of the extent to which Porsche is betting on the electrification of its models. As well, the Cayenne top-notch, as with the Panamera, it is a plug-in hybrid. Yes, one of 680 HP, 900 Nm, able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,8 s and a top speed of 295 km/h.
All this power comes from a V8 biturbo 4.0-liter engine of 550 HP (the same engine that equips the Cayenne Turbo) and an electric motor of 136 HP built-in gear box automatic Tiptronic S of eight relations.
It is basically the same powertrain that equips the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, although in the Panamera the gearbox is a PDK and the Cayenne a change from the traditional torque converter. But is that the SUV offers 50 Nm more torque than the Panamera to reach a whopping 900 Nm.
Heat engine and electric are connected via a clutch positioned within the hybrid module, which is called the Actuator, Clutch Electric (ACE for its acronym in English).
Up to 40 km and 135 km/h in mode 100 % electric
Thanks to its hybrid system, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid enjoys a approval consumption and emissions very advantageous. Can move in way 100 % electrical up to 40 km and shows an average consumption of 3.9 l/100 km and 19,6 kWh (according to the cycle NEDC), and up to a maximum speed of 135 km/h.
And yet, this Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is 350 kg heavier than the Cayenne Turbo since it has to recharge the lithium ion battery of 14.1 kWh of capacity installed under the boot floor.
The battery can be charged completely in 2.4 hours with the AC charger 7.2 kW that leads from the series the car, when using a connection of 400 volts and 16 amps. However, the charge lasts for six hours in a household outlet conventional 230 volt and 10 amps. The load can also be programmed with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) or with the app Porsche Connect (iOS and Android).
For the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid may have a dynamic behavior minimally worthy (and we have seen with the Cayenne E-Hybrid which is possible), Porsche has fitted its SUV range with stabilizer bars active torque vectoring (distribution of torque) and diferencial rear with limited slip, electronically controlled. Optionally, there is a system of address to the four wheels.
With a weight 2.535 kg, it is a good thing that the brake system PCCB is of series. It is composed of ceramic discs of 440 mm on the front axle and 410 mm in the rear with clips of ten and four pistons, respectively.
Porsche takes advantage of the arrival of the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid to reshape the range hybrid plug-in Cayenne. The Cayenne E-Hybrid, which now comes with a particle filter for gasoline, will be available again. And in addition, both the Cayenne E-Hybrid as a Turbo S E-Hybrid are also available with the body Cayenne Coupe.
In the end, the hybrid range of the Cayenne is as follows:
- Cayenne E-Hybrid: 94.761 euros.
- Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe: 99.117 euros.
- Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid: 177.041 euros.
- Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe: 180.792 euros.
