Approaching a bridge on which many will we make in Spain to take a well-deserved rest, and also to go on a trip. The holiday of the Constitution Day, Friday 5 December, and the holiday of the Immaculate Conception transferred to Monday, December 9, in many Autonomous Communities, will do that these days occur many journeys by road. Here we can already imagine some of these 3 reasons I give you to fill out today the tank of your car diesel or petrol and why so we can save you time and money. But as we will see below are not the only ones.
Dates complicated for refueling diesel or gasoline
The first reason to come to the bridge, and fill up today for the tank of diesel or gasoline, it is the congestion that will occur on the roads these days. On Thursday, the Directorate General of Traffic expected major shifts in sense out of the cities, especially in the hours of the afternoon and evening. The stripes more unfavourable, and that can lead to increased traffic not only on highways, but also in gas stations and service stations, will be from 16:00 to 23:00. The Friday, will also be unfavourable to the sections that fall between 9:00 and 15:00.
The back of the bridge also will be complicated. In many regions, like the Canary islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad Valenciana, Illes Balears, Navarra, Galicia and Murcia, it is expected that the traffic is especially congested from 15:00 to midnight.
In those communities in which the feast of the Immaculate Conception has been moved to Monday, December 9th, Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, Castile and León, Extremadura, Madrid and La Rioja, it is expected that the traffic is very congested between 15:00 and 23:00.
In many Autonomous Communities, the weekend is extended for two more days, Friday and Monday, the bridge on the Day of the Constitution and the transfer of the feast of the Immaculate Conception
Strike at petrol stations and service stations
For if that were not enough, the days Thursday 5 and Monday 9 December, the trade unions UGT and Comisiones Obreras, have called a strike of the workers of petrol stations and service stations coinciding with the double bridge of the Constitution Day and the Immaculate Conception. More than 56,000 workers are called to this mobilization, no doubt, could complicate even more the situation in the service stations these days.
The mobilisation called by the unions UGT and CCOO is part of the lack of agreement in the Act of Mediation, which the trade unions are carrying out these days along with the sector’s employers ‘ organisation, to maintain and improve the conditions of workers in the service stations.
It has called a strike for the workers of the service stations in the days more complicated for the traffic of this bridge, which are the Thursday and the Monday
What will be more expensive diesel fuel and gasoline?
The complexity of the system on which is based the calculation of the price of diesel and gasoline complicates any forecast and to know in advance if the price per litre refuelling will be more expensive this Thursday, and during the holidays of this bridge, or not. Historically yes we have seen the price of fuel increased on the eve of a bridge, or of the operations of departure and return of the summer vacation. But this effect has not necessarily to occur.
The fundamental reasons for anticipating the refueling remain the one we have already mentioned, the congestion of the roads these days, and the strike of workers of service stations. However, if your priority is to get the fuel more economic, yes we would recommend you to plan your trip, to analyse if the service stations on your route or your destination is more economical and also, if the prices in the Autonomous Community to which you’re traveling are lower than, or superior to those of the Community of origin.
In any case, it is best to prevent, especially if we travel by roads prone to snow. On any trip we take in the winter it is important to ensure you travel with the tank full, so that we can keep the engine of our car and the heater turned on, in case of stuck.
